very intriguing math. art. my brother-in-law has a political search engine that (in a matter of speaking) identifies with your math. it is extremely creative and hard for others to digest. but i am excited with his work, as i am with yours. presently, my brother-in-law is also on medication -- he's bipolar. but it helps him focus so that he can actually produce rather than just talk about it.  Ben;  Lafayette, LA    Top of Page

1 Intelligence Math: Are Mathematics and Intelligence math mutually exclusive. Was watching C-Span again. And their desired to base Management decisions on Intelligence. But do we even know what intelligence is??? It could get tough trying to manage world situations with "Intelligence" when we don't know what it is Mathematically or otherwise. 2 I really hate to reveal my possible ignorance on the subject of Quantum Computers but.... Couldn't you just as well make a Computer out of Alphabet (Numeric) Soup as Atomic particles. Maybe to start out it wouldn't be as fast....How about a relativistic Alphabet Soup Computer that processed "relatively"....I know there have been experiments with different kinds of Plasma computers and magnetic pulses.....But I think I will start trying to design a Alphabet (Numeric) Soup Relative Processing device.... 6 Which came first: Chicken or the Egg? On the front cover of my College of Literature, Science and the Arts magazine from the University of Michigan there is a nice picture of a little chick and a nice picture of an Egg, with the Sub Title: "Origin". So I thought I would take the intellectual challenge offered by the LS & A magazine and propose that the Chicken and the Egg are only paramatized as one process. Or on function or one system. It does not make sense to take them as two separate systems. And it does not, does it. Maybe some Mathematicians would disagree, but as for the rest of us on planet Earth....... And as for Mathematical implications and applications I think there are some. I will think about this some more. Some ideas on my Math site may help in this discussion I am sure. Which came first , Chicken or the Egg? Part II Every (Life A + Non Life A) = Any (Life A + Non Life A) = Some (Life A + Non Life A) = Non (Life A + Non Life A) . Try for Some Life A = Creation; Any Life A = Mankind's or Chicken's Life A; Every Life A = Heaven; Non Life A = Spirit?; and with f(t): Every (Life A + Non Life A)t = Any (Life A + Non Life A)t = Some (Life A + Non Life A)t = Non (Life A + Non Life A)t . Try for Some Life A = Creation; Any Life A = Mankind's or Chicken's Life A; Every Life A = Heaven; Non Life A = Spirit?; Zim Olson        Top of Page

XDemocratIQ + YRepulicanIQ = USAPoliticalIQ I think there is something wrong with this equation also. However, Pollsters, Politicians, seem to think something like this is true. For one thing there are some 270 million US citizens and as for the identifiable issues. I don't know how you Quantify and Qualify all these factors together. As for the political model of compartilizing this all into two political parties for the purpose of ease in intelligent voting this seems to be more of a case of loss of meaningful information making intelligent voting futile. Political IQ synthesis would be helpful if our representatives were capable of such. Take Democratic IQ + non Democratic IQ + Republican IQ + non Republican IQ Would give a workable USA political IQ!! Zim Olson       Top of Page

12 A model with True Competition and No losers. Absolute Competition in such things as the Job Market means there are going to be losers. Those who are not able to compete. What are these people supposed to do. Is there another mathematical model other than total competition, that would provide stimulus of motivated behavior and not leave out a major part of the population to the US Economic loop. 15 Financing Social Security, Green Span on Free Lunch,on CSPAN: Sorry. Was watching them talk about how to Finance Social Security on C-Span. It has been said "There is no Free Lunch" i.e.. Greenspan. Although I agree, an Economic System powered by a "Free Lunch" has not been invented. I feel a "Free Lunch" sub system can be invented and maintained. I think we can find some example(s) of Free Lunches in our world. In a world of Supply and Demand this may not hold true. But some other relationship with this sub system could be sustainable. Maybe we need a partial system or sub system Mathematical Free Lunch model for financing Social Security. This should be a viable "component" of our Social System. Examples of "Free Lunches" Sub Systems in our Economic System are: Food Banks, Clothing Banks and Thrift Stores (funded by a non functional component of the US Economic System or otherwise non useable items by our Economic System). Another example of my Non Functional component of Systems being a potential System Resource. Zim Olson  Top of Page NA
16 Monkeys 95% Human...Need New Number Theory: Quite a while ago, I read in the Scientific American that Monkey's have 95% the Genome of Humans. I think they also inferred this means we are basically some sort of 95% Monkey. Both , I feel, grossly misuse this type of Mathematical Comparison. Whether they meant just genotype or meant phenotype also. Percentage comparisons in molecular items is of course no where. We need a NEW NUMBER Theory for these types of comparisons. Zim Olson       Top of Page NA
17 General Solution to: A + Not A: The use of following relational transformation: Everything = Anything = Something = Nothing can give a general solution for any A + Not A system. Other methods are found in : Applications at http://www.zimmathematics.com Zim Olson        Top of Page NA
18 Re: General Solution to: A + Not A: Modeling the Universe as some sort of Information System, I think x = A + Not A has a solution. Even a General one. I have been trying to find a meaning to x = Life + Not Life ....or what is Life after Death. This would be one useful application of this concept......The fact that for any A, there is a Not A, proves all equations/expressions have a solution...You just have to find it....Thus the Creative Axiom. 19 Every() = Some() = Any() = Non(); Proves God Exists: Existence of Relational Transformation: Everything = Anything = Something = Nothing or Every Function = Any Function = Some Function = Non Function of any system (see Intro at: http://www.zimmathematics.com/htm/app.htm ) proves God exists. 22 Managing Disasters??? Possible or Pie in the Sky?? C-Span They are talking about better ways of Managing Disasters by the US Federal Government i.e. FEMA, Military, local government on C - Span now. I don't know who this guy has in mind that is going to manage the response to disasters in the US or group of managers. They must be pretty smart! I think of the usual Earthquakes, Floods, Asteroids etc., etc. Yikes. One man called in and tried to remind the commentator (Douglas Brinkley of Tulane University) by telling of his experience in Vietnam and the Human reality of Chaos always being an instant away. This man who called in had the audacity to mention that Chaos some how was a fact of life when they cut him off very quickly. The folly of trying to eliminate Chaos in their plan to manage response to Disasters is what I noticed. Trying to deal with Chaos should be part of the plan and expectations to eliminate it are un realistic. How about utilizing chaos to get things done? That you couldn't otherwise accomplish. I will think about this some more, on ways to capitalize on Chaos for the common good. Any body have any useful Applications and Knowledge of Mathematical Chaos Theory?? Zim Olson        Top of Page NA

National Institute of Health; C-Span; Health & Economics I am listening to C-Span now as I type. They are discussing Dollars, Health, Insurance, Budgets. These are very interesting components to a problem. Maybe Health should be looked at separately from the other components. How do you achieve health with or without money, with limited money. Reimbursement for Health not treatment should be the priority. Fee for Service has reached the limit of it's usefulness'. It is time to go on from there. That is why they call dollars negotiable tender. You don't let the dollars dictate what you want to do, you dictate what you want the dollars to do. Make a Health Care Plan/Budget with no dollars included for starters.

25 Talk / Polls on C-Span (for example):  Typical topics are "For or Against President, Republicans, Democrats, etc", "For or Against war in Iraq", and today "For or against Dissent in this country".....I would like to propose a new topic for C-Span: "For or against the Color Blue vs. Color Pink".  I have posted other possible subjects for discussion on Math Forum etc., but this is more presentable in general.....My point is something is wrong with this format of discussion.  Especially when you can get a myriad of reasons supporting or against ANY topic posted.  Maybe suggesting what either side, Republicans or Democrats (for example) propose to solve any given problem.  Or the top ten priorities in  a given job, political post, citizenship or some other existential modality of power. Like what would you REALLY do if you were REALLY the president.  And how long would you be expecting to remain president. Open or partially open wish lists usually heard on C-Span and other similar Media formats, can be interesting but have limited import also.  With Intelligent discussion and the Adversarial model you will get only limited results and change in format from time to time would increased the variety and content of the discussion. More intelligently framed questions could also be tried. You ask a "vague question"  and you probably will get something you don't care for. Zim Olson       Top of Page NA

28 "Depends what you mean by Is" Bill Clinton.  I often had my doubts about Bill, but this famous quote by him, although under unfortunate circumstances, shows maybe where some lack of insight lies. As a Mathematician I know "is" or some variation of an equation, can take many  or innumerable forms and meaning. The media, at the time, did not appear to have a clue about this. 30. C-Span discussion about budget items and "what is a tax cut" between a Democrat Senator and The Republican Treasurer.  The senator said to the Treasurer "By your own definition of Tax Cuts, you are not being forthright about future Tax cuts in your budget".  This seemed to be the crux of the Senator's argument, that the Treasurer was not "following his own 'definition' of Tax Cuts when presenting his budget".  The Treasure in the short time he was allowed tried to explain the complex nature of the items of the budget.  And then was promptly cut off by the Senator, adjourning the meeting, after repeatedly exclaiming his position that the Treasure was contradicting his own definition.....  02/12/2007 04:19:48 -0700........Here is my rebuttal for the Treasurer:  First of all I see in my Dictionary I am not sure who authored that there are at least 4 possible definitions of 'definition' that could apply to this discussion.  I can think of a number more and I suppose so could others, that would be applicable.  Is there ever one definition....of  a word or one definition of 'definition'.  I don't think so or would like to see one for myself.  The best mode of discussion  would be to make your lack of understanding clear and at least give the Treasurer ample time to explain his definition(s).   Under a many layered and tiered structure like the Federal budget I am sure many definitions are applied to individual budget item(s).  Just like mathematics maybe. Zim Olson       Top of Page NA
31 "Absolute Truth" per my Pastor Scott Lubinski - Last Sunday 02/11/2007.....According to my Pastor from the pulpit last Sunday there is such a thing as "Absolute Truth" ..."As focused on the Cross"......I have some trouble with the idea of "Absolute Truth" myself...like what is it?  Show me any symbolic expression that represents an Absolute Truth and I may agree with you.  I like to look at these truths such as in the Bible as directional guides, vectors, and means of getting someplace without defining absolutely where you will end up. Like a Vector X  giving focus?  Zim Olson       Top of Page NA
32 The US Government in the Mortgage/Banking Business?  Would it be so bad? Maybe they would make so much money they could reduce taxes.  And the fearsome burden on Home Buyers for life. 36 I don't think our quest for intelligent behavior will be fully understood until we also understand, appreciate and can analyze "Stupidity". I think "Stupidity" can be also analyzed as outside the Human Condition framework.  In fact I think this would give us a more full appreciation of what "Stupidity" is and a role with our quest for intelligent behavior in all areas of life. Example(s):  What are the criteria that differentiate Stupid behavior from Intelligent behavior. Can the criteria be simply empirical?  How do we know if the criteria is valid, Stupid vs. Intelligent? Can criteria be Universal or only situation specific?  What if Criteria can be Stupid, no matter what the Criteria that is used. Now, what would this say about our quest for intelligent behavior? Maybe we should always search appropriate criteria that fits our purpose, needs, morals etc. and skip the judgments about stupidity vs. intelligent.  Now how does this all fit in with Physical models. Should we also search for "Criteria" on which to evaluate physical behavior and skip the judgmental-conclusions. AND what does this say about our state of knowledge of our surroundings. And the state of the physical world itself. The search for new criteria on which to evaluate our surroundings  or a Science of Criteria may be important.  Zim Olson   Top of Page NA
