A Math Story by Zim Olson One day, a Sub System was strolling along and came across a System of his. The Sub System said Good Morning to his System and asked "What is New?". "Nothing is new under the Principal System", the System replied. "Oh you know what I mean", replied the Sub System. " "Do you mean relative to me or some other set of Sub Systems", replied the System. "Either" replied the Sub System. "This is hard to express in one response" said the System. " "Finite/Axiomatic Sub System News and System wide news are like expressing an infinity with a finiteness" continued the System. " , "You need a Creative Mathematician not a Journalist." "This is far more complex a question/answer than I intended!" said the Sub System. " I see" said the System , "You didn't want the Truth, you wanted existential truth.". "Based on your limitations in Time and Space" , the System continued. "Not all Truth is based in Time and Space" said the System. "Ok" replied the Sub System, "What is 'New' based on my limitations as expressed in Time and Space?" "Limitations are your field of expertise " replied the System, "I am a System and only express what I want and need to." "I think today I would like to express myself without limits" replied the Sub System. "Well" said the System " That sounds like News to me, how do you propose to do / express that?". "I propose to do/express that by defining myself as a System and by expressing/doing myself accordingly" said the Sub System. The System replied, "The trick is how a Sub System with existential limits can successfully define itself as a existential system". "Not an easy task " the System continued. "All definitions and their expressions tend to be finite. And subsequently the result is a new sub system, not a System". "Well" replied the Sub System, " I don't like being a Sub System, so I am going to try and see for myself." "I think I would like to define myself as the Principal System and it's non Principal System value", the Sub System continued stating his plan. The System replied, " I don't think even the Principal System defines himself, how is a sub System going to do this?". "Maybe some sort of existential statement, instead of a definition would work?" , said the Sub System. "The result would be unknown" said the System. "Maybe I will get lucky" said the Sub System. "The odds are against it" said the System, "You would probably end up a form of Sub System you didn't want to be, not a existential System!". "I have an idea" said the Sub System, "What if I express myself as a Sub System and myself and a Non Sub System and myself. " The System replied, " That sounds like a good expression and if it works, that is definitely Good News.
