"Hologram-ville - A Universe of Images - And their Philosophy of Science"

A Math Story inspired by an Article in Scientific American about Holograms and my conversation about this with friend, Damien.
By Zim Olson

There was an image.

The Image always wondered where he came from.

""Did I come from the Earth, Sky or Some Place far away?"

And

"Am  I Animal, Vegetable, or Mineral?"

or

"Or just a figment of some image-ination?"

Also:

  1. What future does an image have?

  2. Are there other images like myself?

  3. What is my purpose as an image?

And Finally

What should my Philosophy of Science be?!

With this in 'Mind' the Image pondered energetically.

He thought of the quest of finding images intelligent like himself,

somewhere in the hologram-verse (hologram-ville)

He couldn't find any!

"Caramba!" exclaimed the Image.

Now what?!

He decided to try to understand other images unlike himself.

Not an easy task for a lone image.

"Maybe I should construct an image and call it a tool!"

Then the image had to decide what to do with this tool.

The image experienced power at this moment.

He still didn't know what to do with this 'tool', however.

"Maybe I can make even more images with this 'tool'!"

And so in a series of productivity the Image made many more 'tools'.

He learned how to make many more tools with his new tools.

He then decided he needed Science to understand how these tools worked.

How the tools worked with other images.

The lawful understanding of the Hologram-verse was his goal.

So his quest of knowledge and understanding of Images continued.

And then the Image made the ultimate image. The Computer.

Scientifically this was the ultimate computer in that it could create images just like his Image.

The Image thought that was pretty cool!

Now all the Image has to do to understand The Hologram-verse is construct an image,

with his tools, that works like The Hologram-verse.

Like a Computer Hologram-verse.

An Image that can produce a Hologram-verse!?

Now this gives some material to come up with a Philosophy of Science for an Image in a Hologram-verse.

The understanding required to make a Hologram-verse, Seems like a Don Quijote like quest.

A True Oxymoron, so to speak.

If the Image were to just start building this Image in a Image like no other. It probably wouldn't be an Image.

"Makes Sense" said the Image.

"I need to know the True Transformation that my Hologram-verse uses"

So, the Image decided to brush up on his Mathematics.

He decided he must be some sort of Hologram-verse him self.

And that the True Hologram-verse must be like him and other Image/Hologram-verses.

The Image then pondered in quest of the Mathematical Transformation the following;

Psychology, Chemistry, Economics, Business and then Statistically compared the different resultant Image/Hologram-Systems.  Knowing they also somehow were a result of The Hologram-verse Transformation.

All the common components of the identified images Transformations should somehow be present in the Hologram-verse Transformation.

And so the Image has found his own Philosophy of Science, identifying images and their system transformation and then statistically comparing them to each other in the Don Quijote like quest of The Hologram-verse question.
