Math Story by Zim Olson The Community of Science of Sector A was pondering Sector Z of THE Universe. First of all like all good Scientists they were trying to understand or know the existential properties of this Sector. It was given the name of Sector Z because they had run out of other names and didn't know what else to call this .....sector. First of all the Scientists of Sector A wanted to know 'what' is Sector Z? A very good and honorable place to start thought these Scientists! Of course where else would one start an analysis of an unknown sector of THE Universe. Sector Z did not appear to communicate, by talking or any other forms of communication familiar to Sector A , also of THE Universe. So Sector A resorted to a barrage of Tests. They decided to use known tests for Mass and Energy type. They quickly determined it did exist so it must have Mass! And subsequently Energy. But to determine the type of Energy, they decided to ask more probing questions/tests. Since this was apparently some form of existential phenomena, after all they were somehow experiencing or detecting Sector Z, they wanted to KNOW how, when and why other sectors were experiencing this phenomena of THE Universe in 'Sector Z'. You know, was this an objective experience? AND what were the criteria for these experiences? Sector A felt somehow they were missing some important information about Sector Z? The community of Sector A proposed this equation for Sector Z to see if any body could solve it: Z + X = A . Wow, Sector A thought , if we could only solve this formula we would understand Sector Z. And maybe we would understand THE Universe better AND then could better derive some usefulness for the Community of Sector A. You know, applications. Sector A worked very hard to solve this equation. One member of Sector A proposed they needed more information on 'X' in this Z + Xx = A, expression. Another said we needed more information on Sector Z. One very enterprising member of Sector A even suggested they did not know enough about their own Sector , Sector A! Then out of the Blue some unknown Sector %$*? proposed the wild and brazen formula: B + C + D + E + F + G + H + I + J + K + L + M + N + O + P + Q + R + S + T + U + V + W + X1 + Y = Xx; Sector A was in an uproar at this brazen new formula. But they were rather undecided on how to approach this new approach from Sector %$*?. Some members from Sector A said this expression had no value. Mathematically, Scientifically..... or anywhere in THE Universe? One member from Sector A proposed that Sector %$*? be asked to formulate a proof of this new expression. Sector % $*? consented to do this and proposed the following proof: %$*? = A + Xx, and Xx = ?. The response of Sector A was immediate, but still they for some unknown - reason were undecided as to the value and correctness of this proof by Sector %$*?......Last time the author of this story checked, Sector A AND Sector %$*? of THE Universe were still trying to understand THE Universe, Sector Z and each other.
